Turnkey Websites
Arguably Mezcla's bread and butter, full service website design and development puts us in charge of the entire process. We are able to come up with a large scale plan that takes into consideration your company's goals and incorporate them into a cohesive design.
Our client came to us with a service they offered and nothing more. They did not come with any company branding, slogans, or any other marketing campaigns, so we truly had a blank slate.
We began this project similarly to other projects - by doing research. However, the research to be conducted for a web design and development project leans heavily on learning about the company or person for whom we are designing.
We set up a time to discuss the company and to learn from the owner about the services offered, the goals of the company, and to gain more insight into how the company is portrayed. We do this by reviewing company artifacts, listening to the tone and language being used, and running a few design preference tests for things such as company fonts, color palette, and other aesthetics. It is at this point that we also consider which development stack is best suited for the project at hand.
After the meeting, we immediately began our design process by coming up with a wireframe so that the client could approve our plan before moving on to a more rigid stage. Once the wireframe was approved, we began to flesh it out with a higher fidelity mockup. After the client approved the mockup, the design was off to development. Since we offer a full service design and development, we are able to get building right away. Also, developing the website in-house allows us to bridge the gap between design and development when there are design elements that need to be negotiated due to technical tradeoffs.
We sent the client weekly progress reports with screenshots of the work done, and after a couple of weeks, we completed the 10-page website. However, we still needed a couple of days to put the site through a rigorous quality control testing phase.
Upon completion of quality control testing, the site went live. We set up the client with hosting, email, and provided them with a monthly maintenance plan that accounted for addressing any issues that might come up as well as a complimentary 1 hour of design/development work.
