How To: Reupholster A Chair Using Vinyl Fabric
Sometimes your seating arrangement needs a fresh look. Instead of heading over to your local furniture store, pick up a yard of fabric and give your chairs a new makeover.
What you'll need:
- Reupholstery vinyl fabric
- Staple gun
- Extra staples
Turn your chair over and unscrew the seat. Set aside the nails for later.
Wrap your fabric around the seat to ensure that there is enough material to finish the project. For this project, we decided to leave the old fabric underneath.
Smooth and stretch the vinyl over the seat. Begin to staple the fabric onto the seat, right above the older staples.
Try not to staple over any of the nail holes, and keep your work as uniform as possible. Constantly turn over the seat and smooth over any bubbles forming on the surface.
Cut away the excess fabric with a sharp scissor.
Take your nails and secure the seat back onto the chair.
Now you have one new chair ready to grace your dining table or work desk. Enjoy and keep checking back with us for more reupholstery ideas.
